Bottle Spam: Polishes to Wear for Summer!

I've got some bottle spam eye-candy for you today! I like to do these types of posts a couple times per year as the seasons change, and I admit I'm a bit late this year!

Normally, I'd show Spring/ Summer polishes in one go, but this edition will just focus on bright Summer shades! Today does mark the first day of meteorological Summer, and it is pushing upper 80s in Chicago lately! (UGH).

Do you like my overly-artsy photo at the top of the collage? It in no way represents the true color of the polishes! (The photo of Ham is from the Summer I adopted him, and that is my wonderful neighbor's hand in the shot.)

I digress! The polishes:

This time, I've shopped my stash only for untrieds! I'm hoping I'll get around to wearing many of these gorgeous colors during this season.  We'll see.  I only have so many fingers/ toes and days!

I've broken them down into color groups. Corals & pinks:

Models Own- Pink Punch, LVX- Roux, Zoya- Kimber, Essie- Super Bossa Nova, Zoya- Lola

Models Own- Pink Punch is a super bright coral which I'm hoping has a nice formula.  LVX- Roux is a fairly new polish, released this Spring, and it is the most lovely coral-y red color with a bright yet muted quality.  I know I just oxymoron-ed myself, but I find it really difficult to describe that color. If I swatch it for you, I'm hoping it'll come through in photos.

Oranges and coral-oranges:

China Glaze- Sun Worshipper, Zoya- Beatrix, Indigo Bananas- Fiery the Angels Fell, OPI- Are We There Yet?, Misa- BubblePop

Indigo Bananas- Fiery the Angels Fell looks like an amazingly warm glassfleck multichrome- so excited about that one! China Glaze- Sun Worshipper draws all the attention in this photo. I'm hoping it'll look that way on the nail.  Maybe I'll have to layer it over white?

Yellow, chartreuse, and limes:

Illamasqua- Rare, Nyx- Lime, Misa- Lime Love, KBShimmer- Toucan Touch This

I've just recently acquired Illamasqua- Rare, and it's a fairly older polish, I think.  I'm not crazy about yellows in general, but I have been craving neon highlighter nails for some reason. (There's really no explanation.) KBShimmer- Toucan Touch This is the only KBShimmer in my collection that I haven't tried, and I have a feeling it's going to be a blast to wear! *nail polish nerd*

Aqua & teals:

piCture pOlish- Chillax, Emily de Molly- Bo Peep, China Glaze- Turned Up Turquoise, Misa- Skinny Dipping, piCture pOlish- Lagoon

China Glaze- Turned Up Turquoise is one of those classic polishes you read about every so often, and I'm looking forward to swatching it for a Nailstalgia post!  I received Picture Polish- Chillax and Picture Polish- Lagoon recently in a nail polish secret santa (mail-time on that later!), and I am so stoked to wear both of them! Actually, I am tempted to wear these five polishes all together as a random skittle.

Darker teals & blues!

L.A. Girl- Teal Dimension, Formula X for Sephora- Outburst, Color Club- Pure Energy, Zoya- Tallulah, OPI- DS Magic

Formula X for Sephora- Outburst was one of the first Formula X polishes I bought to try....and I still haven't tried it! It's gorgeous on the swatch stick, though. It seems like I have just been waiting for the perfect sunny day to swatch it.  Color Club- Pure Energy is an older polish, but a newer acquisition, and the photos don't really do it justice.  It's super bright and has amazing, gorgeous aqua shimmer running through it.  I know you're probably not surprised Zoya- Tallulah made this list! Those medium-light blues with shimmer really get me.

That's it (I think)!

I'd love to know what you guys are planning on wearing on your fingers and toes this Summer! Anything in particular?

  11. Can't wait to see these colors on your nails, especially DS Magic! It really is kind of sad when you look at the calendar and realize there's only so many colors you can wear in the season. Good thing we have toes!
